Making the movie TRANSFORMERS + Also, **WIN A REAL TF ROBOT!**

New York, NY (NNC) - When most people think of robots, they think of clumsy hulking robot machines. But when Michael Bay thought of robots for his new summer blockbuster Transformers, he thought of graceful martial artists in cardboard-box costumes.

That’s right, instead of soliciting high-profile CGI effects to make his summer popcorn flick, Michael Bay actually contacted several of the leading martial artists from around Southern California and made them highly complex, fully functional pseudo-”robotic” suits made entirely of cardboard. That’s right - the box your new plasma TV came in might actually be the real star behind the new movie Transformers.

The costumes were designed to be highly flexible and durable in order to allow the actors to ability to move freely in martial-arts form without having to risk destroying the expensive cardboard-costumes.

“They move like I was wearing nothing at all,” said Haroshi Yashimi, one of Japan’s leading martial artists. “And they look just like a robot.”

Indeed, Michael Bay not only solicited world-class choreographers, but also hired sought-after artists to paint the boxes so that they appear as realistic as possible. The end result is a collaboration of various talents to create the most exciting blockbuster of the year.

“We’re confident that Transformers will go down in movie history,” said Michael Bay at the screening last night. “If not, you can always win the real Transformer robot and make the movie yourself.”
